Queens Creation is an annual event created in 2013 by the CICU, (Convention internationale de la culture urbaine).
Queens Creation celebrates the work and contribution of women in the urban arts culture by breaking down barriers and eradicating stereotypes in what is falsely considered a predominantly male culture.
Nonetheless, this culture counts on the presence of more and more women, in visual arts, in dance and in music.
Queens Creation is, therefore, a meeting point to highlight the work of these women.
2018 marks the 5th year of Queens Creation made possible by the assistance of Place Gamelins, Lush, Diss Torsion Studio, Shauna Roberts Dance Centre and the Under Pressure Festival.
Over the weekend, several FREE (or by donation) activities are offered to cover all areas of Urban Culture including Dance workshops, Conferences, Live Music and Dance Performances and Interactive Art activities for adults and children.
These activities are offered to familiarize participants and the general public with aspects of urban culture and help demystify and bring to the spotlight women’s participation and important role in the culture.
